Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- plain flour - 3 c
- cream of tartar - 2 tsp
How to make tea cakes:
Mix together with a spoon margarine and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; stir. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to margarine mixture. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.Use a small glass. Dip in sugar and press out cookies. Bake at 425° until cookies are light brown around edges. Cookies will be soft, but will harden as they cool. Makes 60 to 80 cookies.
