  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • large eggs - 2 item
  • plain flour

How to make tea cakes:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Knead a small amount at a time and roll out thinly. Cut into halves. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
