Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 5 c
- ice water - 2 Tbsp
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
How to make tea cakes:
Cream the sugar, shortening, salt and nutmeg. Add eggs and ice water; work in flour. Roll out on floured board; cut in desired shape. Bake at 375° for 10 to 15 minutes. May be sprinkled with sugar while still warm, if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Coffee cakes.
