  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour - 5 c
  • ice water - 2 Tbsp
  • dash of nutmeg - 1 item

How to make tea cakes:

Cream the sugar, shortening, salt and nutmeg. Add eggs and ice water; work in flour. Roll out on floured board; cut in desired shape. Bake at 375° for 10 to 15 minutes. May be sprinkled with sugar while still warm, if desired.
