Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • shortening, margarine, etc - 1/2 c
  • flour if too soft, add as needed

How to make tea cakes:

Cream together shortening, margarine, etc., and sugar, then add eggs, salt, milk, baking powder and vanilla. Mix all ingredients; knead in flour. Roll out 1/2-inch thick and cut. Bake at 350° until light brown (10 to 15 minutes). Makes about 3 dozen.
