Tangy sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- water - 3/4 c
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- egg white - 1 item
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- can tomato sauce
- prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
- bread crumbs - 2 Tbsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- packets Equal - 2 item
- minced onion - 1/2 c
- minced parsley - 2 Tbsp
- ground round - 1 lb
How to make tangy sweet and sour meatballs:
Sauce:1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce3/4 c. water2 Tbsp. soy sauce2 Tbsp. lemon juice2 packets Equal Combine meatball ingredients and shape into 1-inch balls. Brown in skillet sprayed with nonstick coating, turning to brown evenly. Mix sauce ingredients, except Equal, and add to meatballs. Simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Take meatballs out of sauce and place on serving dish. Stir Equal into sauce and pour over meatballs. Makes 8 servings, 3 meatballs each.Calories per serving: 124. Traditional calories: 249. Diabetic exchange: 2 lean meat, 1 vegetable.
