Tamale loaf
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- eggs, lightly beaten - 3 item
- cornmeal
- pepper - 2 tsp
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- can creamed corn - 1 oz
- pork sausage - 1 lb
- can chopped tomatoes - 1 oz
- can pimentos - 1 item
How to make tamale loaf:
Preheat oven to 350°. Combine tomatoes, corn, sausage (crumbled), onion, shortening, salt and pepper in large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer 15 minutes.Combine remaining ingredients in large mixing bowl and mix well. Spoon into 3-quart casserole (sprayed with Pam). Bake 45 minutes or 1 hour, until brown. Serve with ketchup, if desired.
