Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 1/4
- salt - 1 tsp
- water
- pepper - 1 tsp
- lean ground beef - 2 lb
- cans stewed tomatoes - 3 1/2
- small chopped onion - 1 item
- cans chopped green chilies - 3 oz
- can hominy, drained - 1 1/2
- can pinto beans, rinsed and drained - 1 to
- can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained - 1 to
- shredded cheese optional - 1 item
- can lima beans, rinsed and drained - 1 oz
- tortilla chips optional - 1 item
How to make taco soup:
In a large Dutch oven, brown beef and onion. Drain any fat. Add all remaining ingredients, except last two. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes or longer. Top with cheese and serve with chips if desired.This recipe is from Sundown, Texas.
