Ingredients/Components
- lean ground beef or pork - 1 lb
- pkg - 1 1/4
- can kidney beans undrained - 1 oz
- medium head lettuce - 1 item
- large tomatoes, chopped - 2 item
- thinly sliced onion - 1/2 1
- thinly sliced green pepper - 1/2 1
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- coarsely broken corn chips - 4 c
- bottle Western style salad dressing - 1 oz
How to make taco salad:
Crumble ground beef or pork into 2-quart glass casserole. Microwave on High for 5 to 6 minutes or until no longer pink, stirring once to break up meat. Add taco seasoning mix and kidney beans. Microwave on High for 10 to 11 minutes or until flavors are blended, stirring twice. Let stand about 10 minutes to cool slightly.Break lettuce into bite size pieces and place in large serving dish. Add tomatoes, onion, green pepper and cheese; toss lightly. Add meat mixture, corn chips and salad dressing; toss. Serve immediately. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
