Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • small onion - 1 item
  • taco seasoning mix - 1 pkg
  • can refried beans - 1 item
  • jar taco sauce - 1 oz
  • baked 9-inch pastry shell - 1 item
  • crushed corn chips - 1 c

How to make taco pie:

Cook beef and onions in skillet. Drain. Add taco seasoning mix and water. Stir well. Simmer 20 minutes.

Combine beans and 1/3 cup taco sauce. Spoon half of this mixture into pastry shell. Top with 1/2 meat mixture, 1/2 cheese and all corn chips. Repeat layers. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.

Serve with lettuce, tomatoes, remaining taco sauce and sour cream.
