Taco casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- dried oregano, crushed - 3/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- shredded lettuce - 2 c
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- bottled hot pepper sauce - 1/4 tsp
- 9 1/2 oz - 6 c
- lean ground beef I used ground round - 1 lb
- Velveeta, sliced or shredded - 5 slices
How to make taco casserole:
In medium skillet, cook meat until browned, stirring to break up large pieces. Drain excess fat. Sprinkle with garlic. Place crushed chips in bottom of 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spoon hot meat over chips. Spread 3/4 to 1 cup of sauce over meat. Top with cheese. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes until heated and cheese is melted. Top with lettuce and sauce.
