Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped green pepper - 2 Tbsp
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- beef round steak, 1-inch thick - 2 lb
How to make swiss steak:
Combine flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; pound into meat. In large skillet brown meat on both sides in hot shortening. Top with onion and tomatoes, cut up. Cover.
