  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • oil - 1 2
  • 1 c - 8 oz
  • can 1 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • large onion, sliced - 1 item
  • large bell pepper, sliced - 1 item
  • round steak, cut 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick - 2 2

How to make swiss steak:

Cut meat into serving pieces. In small bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper. Coat meat with seasoned flour (use all the flour).

In a large skillet, brown meat in hot oil. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, covered, 1/4 to 1/2 hour or until tender.

Serve with potatoes or with white rice. Makes 6 servings.
