- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- fat - 2 Tbsp
- onion, sliced - 1 item
- round steak - 1 item
- hot water or tomato juice - 1 c
How to make swiss steak:
Pound flour and seasonings into steak with steak hammer (or edge of plate). Melt fat in skillet. Brown meat on both sides over medium heat. Place in casserole. Add water or juice (juice preferred) and onion. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.Recipe categories: American, Main dish, North american.
