Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • green pepper - 1 item
  • large onion - 1 item
  • round steak or venison - 2 lb

How to make swiss steak:

Cut steak into serving size pieces. Brown and place in casserole dish. Cut up onion and green pepper and place on top of meat.

In skillet, place other ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour over meat, making sure sauce covers meat. Cover tightly with a lid or foil. Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350°.
