Swiss fondue
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 4 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- Cheddar or Gruyere cheese, grated - 1 lb
- Monterey Jack or Swiss cheese, grated - 1 lb
How to make swiss fondue:
Mix together grated cheese, flour, salt, nutmeg and minced garlic. Heat buttermilk until it bubbles and gradually add by handfuls the grated cheese mixture, allowing each handful to melt before adding another and stirring constantly with a strong wire whisk. Serve with warmed squares of French or sourdough bread. Also great with bite sized pieces of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc. Serves 8 easily.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Cheese, Swiss.
