Ingredients/Components

  • eggs, beaten - 9 item
  • milk
  • stick butter, melted - 1 item
  • to 12 slices cubed fresh bread - 10 item
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 lb
  • to 1 green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • small can mushrooms stems and pieces - 1 item
  • bacon, fried crisp and broken up - 1 lb

How to make swiss eggs:

Mix together first 3 ingredients; add salt as desired. Put bread cubes on bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle cheese over bread. Sprinkle onion, pepper and mushrooms on top. Pour egg mixture slowly over top. Sprinkle bacon on top. Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
