Ingredients/Components

  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • cup brown sugar - 1 item
  • tsp salt - 1/4 item
  • cup milk - 1/2 item
  • pastry shell - 1 item
  • cups mashed, cooked sweet potatoes - 2 item
  • stick of butter or margarine, softened - 1 item
  • tsp each of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg - 1/2 item
  • egg whites, beaten stiff with 1/4 cup sugar white - 2 item

How to make sweet potato pie:

Mix first 6 ingredients. Add milk. Fold in beaten whites. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake until firm. Nutmeg and a little white sugar may be sprinkled on top before baking if desired.
