  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2/3 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • ground cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
  • mashed sweet potatoes - 1/2 c

How to make sweet potato biscuits:

Mash coarsely the sweet potatoes and blend with the rest of the dry ingredients. Lightly mix dry ingredients with buttermilk, stirring with a spoon. Sweet potatoes can be moist or dry so adjust the amount of buttermilk to form a smooth dough. Spread the biscuit dough out 1/2-inch thick on a floured counter. Cut and bake in a 400° oven until well browned, about 15 minutes.
