  • salt - 1 c
  • water - 2 gal
  • vinegar - 4 c
  • allspice - 1 oz
  • alum - 1 Tbsp
  • additional sugar - 1 item
  • cukes - 7 lb

How to make sweet pickles:

Bring to a boil vinegar, 6 cups sugar and allspice. Pour over pickles. Next day, add 2 cups sugar. Each day add 2 cups sugar. On the third day, can. Put a couple of allspice in each jar.
