Sweet pickles
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 2 qt
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- pickling spice - 1 tsp
- pickling lime
- thinly sliced cucumbers
- water sufficient to cover cucumbers - 1 item
How to make sweet pickles:
Soak cucumbers in lime dissolved in water for 24 hours. Rinse well and soak in clear water for 4 hours or overnight. Combine vinegar, 2 cups water, salt and spices. Then soak cucumbers in cold vinegar solution for 4 hours or overnight. Boil 40 minutes. Pack in jars and seal.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
