Sweet dough
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt
- warm water - 1/2 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- flour plus more - 6 c
- shortening soft - 1/2 c
How to make sweet dough:
Dissolve the yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water. Using a mixer, make a batter of the sugar, shortening, salt, eggs, 1 3/4 cups warm water, 3 cups flour and yeast mixture. Using a spoon, add 3 cups more flour. Turn dough out on lightly floured table. Grease bowl and turn upside down over dough. Let rise 15 minutes. Knead until a soft dough, using around 1/2 to 1 cup flour. Let rise until double or a little more than double. Pinch off a piece, roll in a ball and place on greased cookie sheet to make buns. You can make any kind of rolls or cinnamon rolls with this dough.For Buns: Bake at 375° for 12 minutes. You can put 1/3 cup wheat germ and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour in.
Bake cinnamon rolls at 350° until brown.
