Sweet and sour turkey
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- Minute rice
- sliced mushrooms - 1 c
- carrots, cut into matchstick pieces - 2 item
- cooked and cubed breast of turkey - 1 lb
- can pineapple chunks packed in juice - 1 oz
How to make sweet and sour turkey:
Cut turkey into thin strips or cubes; set aside. Melt butter in skillet on medium-high. Add garlic, carrots, onion and mushrooms; cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.Meanwhile, drain pineapple, reserving juice. Add vinegar, soy sauce and enough water to juice to make 1 1/2 cups. Add measured liquid, sugar and pepper to skillet; bring to a boil. Stir in rice, pineapple and turkey. Remove from heat and cover. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork. Yields 4 servings.
