Sweet and sour pork chops
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onions - 1/4 c
- center cut pork chops - 6 item
- thinly sliced carrot - 1 c
- green pepper rings - 1 item
- chicken flavor bouillon - 1 item
- lemon juice condensed - 1/2 c
- can pineapple chunks in heavy syrup, drained and reserving syrup - 1 oz
How to make sweet and sour pork chops:
Heat oven to 350°. In large ovenproof skillet, brown chops in oil. Remove from skillet; pour off fat in skillet. Combine lemon juice and cornstarch; mix well. Add sugar, onion, soy sauce, bouillon and reserved syrup. Cook and stir until slightly thickened and bouillon is dissolved. Add pork chops and carrots; cover. Bake 1 hour or until tender. Add pineapple; cover and bake 10 minutes. Garnish with green peppers. Serve with rice if desired.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Pork.
