Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- fat - 2 Tbsp
- onion, sliced thin - 1/4 c
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- 2 can pineapple chunks
- lean pork, cut into 2-inch strips
- bell pepper, cut in thin strips - 3/4 c
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Brown pork in hot fat. Add water. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.Combine cornstarch, salt, sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice and soy sauce. Cook stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
Pour sauce over hot pork. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add pepper, onion and pineapple. Cook for 5 minutes. Yields 6 servings.
