Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • vinegar - 1/2 c
  • salad oil - 4 Tbsp
  • dash of cayenne - 1 item
  • Accent - 1 Tbsp
  • medium tomatoes, quartered - 2 item
  • medium onion, sliced - 1 item
  • cucumber, peeled and sliced thin - 1 item
  • cloves crushed garlic - 2 item
  • cornstarch in 2 Tbsp - 1 tsp
  • pork cubes - 2 lb
  • medium green peppers, cut in squares - 2 item

How to make sweet and sour pork:

Cut up vegetables and set aside; combine in small bowl the vinegar, sugar, salt, cayenne and Accent and set aside also. Brown garlic in hot oil; stir-fry pork in garlic until well done. Add vegetables and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add sauce and stir, then cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in cornstarch paste and cook until sauce thickens. Do not overcook. Serve with rice.
