Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • cornstarch - 1 item
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1 item
  • vinegar - 1 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • bread crumbs - 1 c
  • chopped almonds - 1/2 c
  • large can pineapple chunks - 1 item
  • dashes Tabasco sauce - 2 item
  • lean ground pork
  • dashes nutmeg - 2 item
  • Roll in cornstarch

How to make sweet and sour meatballs:

Combine all ingredients and form into small balls. Roll in cornstarch. Brown slowly in oil for 20 minutes on low heat. Can be made ahead and frozen. Make Sauce.Sauce:1 c. pineapple juice1 large can pineapple chunks1 c. vinegar1 c. water1 1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. soy sauce4 Tbsp. cornstarch Mix sauce ingredients and cook for 10 minutes on low heat. Add defrosted meatballs to sauce and warm through. Makes about 90 meatballs.
