Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- large egg - 1 item
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- catsup - 1/4 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can pineapple chunks - 1 item
- instant minced onion - 1 tsp
- envelope instant oatmeal with raisins and spice or cinnamon and spice - 1 1/2
- green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes - 1 item
- cornstarch in 1/3 c - 1 Tbsp
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Mix beef, oatmeal, egg and onion; shape into 1-inch balls. Heat oil; add meatballs and brown. Remove to paper towel. Add pepper and pan drippings. Cook 2 minutes. Drain oil, except 1 tablespoon; add remaining ingredients. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until sauce is smooth and thickened. Add meatballs, bell pepper and pineapple.
