Ingredients/Components

  • cubed bread - 1 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • finely chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • ground beef
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • egg - 1 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • bottles chili sauce - 2 oz
  • water - 1/2 c
  • jar grape jelly - 1 oz
  • sour cream - 1/2 pt

How to make sweet and sour meatballs:

Soak bread cubes in milk. Mix with onion, meats, eggs, salt and pepper. Shape meat mixture into walnut-sized balls. Place on broiler pan in oven at around 350° until almost done.

Combine chili sauce, water and grape jelly; heat to simmering. Drop well-drained meat balls into hot jelly mixture. Simmer for about 45 minutes. Stir in sour cream and serve. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
