Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- dash salt - 1 item
- unsalted pecan halves - 1 lb
- slightly beaten egg whites - 2 item
How to make swedish pecans:
Toast nuts in slow oven (325°) until light brown. (Do not overtoast.) Fold sugar and salt into slightly beaten egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold nuts into mixture. Melt butter in a 15 x 10 x 2-inch pan. Spread mixture over butter. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Stir often until there is no more butter.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Low sodium.
