Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 lb
  • nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • bread crumbs - 1 c
  • parsley - 1 tsp
  • finely chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • ground veal - 1/2 lb

How to make swedish meatballs:

Mix first 9 ingredients together thoroughly; mixture may be soft. Form into small balls and cook in 1/4 lb. butter. When browned well, remove from pan. In butter remaining in pan, add 1/4 cup flour, and 1 pint sour cream. Stir well, scraping up all browned bits at bottom of pan. Add 1 teaspoon parsley. Return meatballs to pan and heat thoroughly. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup water to sauce if it's too thick.
