Ingredients/Components

  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • lean ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • minced onion - 1/2 c
  • dry bread crumbs - 3/4 c
  • snipped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salad oil - 1/4 c
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • water - 2 c
  • sour cream - 3/4 c

How to make swedish meatballs:

Mix thoroughly the first 10 ingredients and refrigerate 2 hours. Shape mixture by rounded tablespoonfuls into balls. In large skillet, slowly brown meatballs in oil. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Blend flour, paprika, salt and pepper into oil in skillet. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in water. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Reduce heat and gradually stir in sour cream, mixing until smooth. Add meatballs; heat through. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
