Sun-dried tomato spread



  • cream cheese - 8 oz
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • olive oil - 1 c
  • pinch of sugar - 1 item
  • cayenne - 1/4 tsp
  • large garlic cloves - 2 item
  • parsley sprigs - 2 item
  • crackers - 1 item
  • green onion, chopped - 1 item
  • dried - 5 basil
  • dried tomatoes

How to make sun-dried tomato spread:

To rehydrate tomatoes, place tomatoes in a steamer about 45 minutes. Place steamed tomatoes in a 2-cup container with tight fitting lid. Add all remaining ingredients except cream cheese and crackers. Cover container. Shake to blend ingredients. Refrigerate 2 days.

To serve: In a food processor fitted with steel blade, process contents of container until almost smooth, leaving some texture. Place cream cheese on a plate. Pour tomato spread over. Use knife to spread on crackers.
