Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 6
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- oleo - 1 c
How to make sugar cookies:
Cream the sugar, oleo and vanilla until light. Add eggs and beat. Sift dry ingredients (except baking soda) which is added to the buttermilk. Add alternately with the dry ingredients and milk. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll dough 1/4-inch and cut with cookie cutters. Place on slightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° until light brown on bottoms, about 10 minutes.You can use brown sugar instead of white. Dissolve 1 tablespoon vinegar in 1 cup milk for the buttermilk substitute. It takes the 6 cups of flour for me.
