Ingredients/Components
- white sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- sour milk 1 tsp - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Add eggs
- butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- food coloring optional - 1 item
How to make sugar cookies:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the sour milk. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes. Frost with Buttercream Frosting.Buttercream Frosting:1 lb. Domino confectioners 10x sugar1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened1 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. milk food coloring (optional) In a large bowl, beat together sugar, butter, vanilla and milk until smooth. If necessary, add more milk, until frosting is spreading consistency. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring. Stir to blend.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Rolled cookies.
