  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 1/2 c

How to make sugar cookies:

Cream together margarine, shortening, brown sugar, white sugar and egg. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form into balls; roll in sugar and lightly press with bottom of a glass on greased cookie sheet.
