Sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 3 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 1 c
• salt
• flour
• butter - 1 c
• soda - 1 tsp
• shortening - 1 c
• powdered sugar - 1 c
• cream of tartar - 2 tsp

How to make sugar cookies:

Cream butter, shortening and sugars together. Add eggs and flavoring and beat well. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto pie pan sprinkled with granulated sugar. Place on greased sheet pan sugar side up. Bake in 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Yields 6 dozen cookies.
