Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp

How to make sugar and spice cookies:

Mix together shortening, egg, sugar and molasses. Sift dry ingredients together. Mix and form into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
