Ingredients/Components

  • slices bacon - 4 item
  • medium potatoes, peeled and diced - 6 item
  • small onion, minced - 1 item
  • pkg - 10 oz
  • water - 3/4 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • sugar
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp

How to make succotash:

In Dutch oven over medium heat, cook bacon until browned. Remove and crumble. Set aside. In drippings, over medium heat, cook potatoes and onion until onion is tender, stirring often. Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stir occasionally until potatoes are tender and mixture thickens. Serve, sprinkled with bacon.
