Ingredients/Components

  • hot water - 2 c
  • beaten egg - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • catsup - 1/4 c
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • small can evaporated milk - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • bell pepper - 1/4 item
  • small onion - 1 item
  • red pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • saltine cracker crumbs - 2/3 c
  • black and red pepper - 1 item
  • ground round meat
  • garlic powder or 1 clove garlic - 1/4 tsp
  • In blender, puree or chop very fine the onion, bell pepper and garlic powder
  • Pound until very thin

How to make stuffed round steak:

Place cracker crumbs in large bowl. In blender, puree or chop very fine the onion, bell pepper and garlic powder. Add evaporated milk and pour over cracker crumbs. Add black pepper, red pepper, egg, catsup and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and add meat. Mix well. Makes enough stuffing for 2 large round steaks.To Prepare Steaks:2 large round steaks black and red pepper Remove bone and fat from edges of steak. Pound until very thin. Sprinkle steak with black and red pepper. Cover 1 steak with 1/2 of stuffing, roll from one end and tie or place seam side down in pan. Repeat with other steak.To Prepare Gravy:1 pkg. dry onion soup mix1 can cream of mushroom soup2 c. hot water1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Mix onion soup mix, mushroom soup, hot water and Worcestershire sauce; pour on top of steak.

Bake at 325° for 2 hours, basting about every 30 minutes. Loosely cover with Reynolds Wrap for the last 30 minutes. This freezes well.
