How to make stuffed round steak:
Drain the liquid from mushrooms. Combine with onion and bread crumbs. Brown in oleo; add 1/4 teaspoon sage, salt and pepper. Flatten steak to 1/4 to 1/3-inch thick. Spread mixture over meat and roll up, jelly roll style. Fasten with skewers or string around roll and ends. Roll steak in flour, season with salt and brown in hot oil in skillet or Dutch oven. Add 1/4 cup water; cover and bake at 325° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Add water as needed. Make gravy to serve over steak. If the steak is large, you can make two rolls, which is easier to handle for browning.Recipe categories: Meat, Beef, Steak.
