Stuffed green peppers
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- medium onion - 1 item
- celery seed - 1/4 tsp
- thyme - 1/8 tsp
- dill weed - 1/4 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1/4 c
- sweet basil - 1/4 tsp
How to make stuffed green peppers:
Brown and drain ground beef. Saute onion in oleo. Add brown sugar to tomato sauce. Pour tomato sauce over ground beef and simmer together. Add spices and simmer all together until rice is done. Parboil pepper halves in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain; fill with meat and rice mixture and top with bread crumbs or cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 325°.
