Stuffed green peppers



  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • medium green peppers - 3 item
  • lean ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano leaves - 1/2 tsp
  • uncooked instant rice - 1/2 c
  • catsup or tomato sauce - 1/4 c

How to make stuffed green peppers:

Cut green peppers in half lengthwise. Remove seeds and membranes. Mix ground beef, tomato sauce, rice, egg, oregano, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Spoon into pepper halves. Place on roasting rack and cover loosely with wax paper.

Microwave on High until green peppers are tender (12 to 16 minutes). Top each pepper with catsup or tomato sauce during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Serves 6.
