Stuffed green peppers
Ingredients/Components
- to 6 green peppers - 5 item
- uncooked brown rice - 3/4 c
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- chopped onion medium - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- dried basil - 1/4 tsp
- dried oregano - 1/4 tsp
- dried thyme - 1/4 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- instant beef bouillon - 1/2 tsp
- pepper to taste - 1 item
How to make stuffed green peppers:
Remove tops and seed from peppers. In a large kettle, bring water to a boil; cook peppers for 5 minutes. Remove and drain. Cook rice according to package directions. In a skillet, brown beef and onion. Drain. Add tomato sauce, herbs, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes. Stir in rice. Stuff peppers with rice mixture. Place upright in a shallow baking dish or casserole. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes. Yields 5 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Beef.
