  • milk - 1 item
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • boiling water
  • powdered sugar - 1 item
  • cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
  • fresh halved strawberries - 1 item
  • jelly roll cake use favorite jelly roll cake recipe - 1 item

How to make strawberry torte:

Glaze:1 c. boiling water2 Tbsp. cornstarch For Cake: Use favorite jelly roll cake recipe and use jelly roll pan or cake pan that is 1-inch thick.

Soften cream cheese and thin with a little milk to spread and sweeten with powdered sugar. Spread this mixture thinly over the top of the cake (about 1/8-inch thick). Top with fresh halved strawberries, cut side down, close together. Seal with glaze.

Bring the water to a boil. Mix cornstarch with a little cold water. Stir into water and boil 1 minute. Spoon over fruit. Serve with whipped cream.
