Strawberry-spinach salad
Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- cider vinegar - 1/4 c
- honey - 1/4 c
- poppy seed - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 tsp
- fresh strawberries - 1 qt
- minced onion - 1/2 tsp
- toasted sesame seed - 2 Tbsp
- bunches fresh spinach - 2 item
How to make strawberry-spinach salad:
Rinse spinach leaves thoroughly; tear into bite size pieces. Drain on paper towels. Hull and rinse strawberries. Cut in half or leave whole, depending on size. Drain on paper towels. In container of electric blender, combine onion, vinegar, oil, honey and Worcestershire sauce; blend until smooth. Stir in sesame seed and poppy seed. In a large salad bowl, combine spinach and strawberries. Toss with dressing. Serve immediately (the salad will wilt after a few hours in the refrigerator.) Yield: 10 servings.Note: If you use less than the full amount of dressing, the salad will not be soggy; preserve some for another occasion; the dressing will keep well in the refrigerator.
