Strawberry spinach salad
Ingredients/Components
- torn fresh spinach - 9 c
- fresh strawberries, halved - 1 pt
- sliced almonds, toasted - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1 Tbsp
- poppy seeds - 1 tsp
- sesame seeds - 1 tsp
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/8 tsp
How to make strawberry spinach salad:
Dressing:1/4 c. vegetable oil2 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. cider vinegar1 Tbsp. chopped onion1 tsp. poppy seeds1 tsp. sesame seeds1/4 tsp. paprika1/8 tsp. Worcestershire sauce In large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Place dressing ingredients in a blender; cover and process until combined. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Serve immediately. Yields 6 to 8 servings.To sugar coat almonds, place in frypan and use 3 tablespoons of sugar per 1/2 cup almonds. Stir continuously until sugar melts and almonds are golden brown. Place on wax paper to cool.
