How to make strawberry shortcake:

Prepare cake according to directions. Bake in two 9-inch pans for 30 minutes at 350°. Cool and split cakes into halves. Cook 7-Up, cornstarch, sugar and food coloring until thick, like pudding. Slice strawberries and pour mixture over berries; cool. Put Cool Whip and mixture over cake.
