  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • 4 oz - 1 can
  • strawberry gelatin - 2 pkg
  • frozen sliced strawberries 10 oz - 2 pkg
  • large or 3 small bananas, whipped until lumps are gone - 2 item
  • coarsely ground walnuts or pecans - 1 c

How to make strawberry salad:

Mix jello and water. Stir in remaining ingredients (except sour cream), using juice from strawberries. Spread half of mixture in 9 x 13-inch pan and chill until firm (about an hour). Leave remaining mixture at room temperature. When first layer is set, spread top with sour cream and then cover with remaining mixture and chill.
