Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
  • sour cream - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • chocolate chips - 1 pkg
  • fresh strawberries, hulled - 3 4
  • pastry shell, baked - 1 item
  • strawberry jam, melted - 1/3 c

How to make strawberry pie:

In a saucepan, melt half the package of chocolate chips and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Spread or brush the melted chocolate over the bottom and up the side of pastry shell. Chill.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Spread over chocolate layer. Cover and chill for 2 hours. Arrange strawberries, tip end up, atop the filling. Brush jam over the strawberries. Melt the remaining chocolate; drizzle over all. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
