Strawberry freezer jam
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- pkg - 1 3/4
- water - 3/4 c
- finely mashed fresh strawberries - 2 c
How to make strawberry freezer jam:
Combine strawberries and sugar, stirring well. Let mixture stand 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine pectin and water in a saucepan, stirring well. Bring mixture to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute, stirring as it boils. Remove from the stove and stir well again. Pour the pectin mixture over the fruit. Stir for 3 minutes. Pour into sterilized jelly glasses or frozen food containers. Cover with lids and let stand at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours or until jelled. Store in freezer up to 1 year or in refrigerator up to 3 weeks. To serve, remove and allow to come to room temperature.
